Welcome to Huguley Elementary where we are #HuguleyTOUGH. A little bit about me: I am from a small rural area in Talladega County. I attended and graduated from Winterboro High School. After attending seminary and attaining my credentials with the Assemblies of God, I attended JSU where I received my Bachelors of Science in Secondary Math Education. As a math teacher I taught in Oxford City Schools and Talladega County. We were a part of the state initiative for PBL (project based learning). In 2012 I was inducted into JSU Teacher Hall of Fame (Middle School Division). After a successful educational career, I attended Samford University and received my Masters in Instructional Leadership. In 2013 I transferred to Talladega City School System where I served as Assistant Principal at Zora Ellis and Principal at Salter Elementary. In 2021 I transferred to Chambers County as Principal at Huguley Elementary.

My wife and I have two sons and we have hosted foreign exchange students for several years. My goal as an educator is to build relationships with my community/ stakeholders in efforts to provide our students with a positive learning environment evidenced by students being actively engaged in real world relevance and topics.

One of the most important components of a successful education is parental support. Please stay involved in the education of your child and always support and encourage your child to do his/her best and to never give up. Our school uses a variety of methods to communicate with our parents. Please be sure to speak to your child's teacher so that you are informed of all school events/ activities. We welcome your participation, support, and look forward to meeting all of you throughout the school year.

Respectfully,

Philip R. Jenkins
