It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Coach Corey Thornton, who passed away on April 2, 2024. Coach Thornton passed away unexpectedly. He had been a teacher and coach at LaFayette High School since 2011. We will all miss him more than words can express. He was not just our co-worker but our good friend as well. We will share the funeral or memorial service details as we hear them from the family. Please keep his family in your prayers.

There will be no After-School Tutoring on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. This will allow families and staff an opportunity to attend the basketball game supporting Valley High School Rams.
Afterschool tutoring will be cancelled Wednesday February 28th to support our Valley Rams in the state playoffs.

The Nurses met with Chambers County DHR for an informative Professional Development day. Mrs. Julia Ann Hyde and her wonderful staff presented information to the nurses regarding Mandated reporting in the school system. Chambers County School nurses recently visited the Chambers County Community Health and Wellness Center in Lafayette, hosted by Linda Gibson-Young, Health Services Director. They were able to tour the facility and meet with members of the Alabama Department of Public Health to learn about many useful resources available in Chambers County.
